Apart from their beauty and lovely scent, water lilies provide much needed shade not only for fish and their spawn but help to reduce solar light levels. This reduction in sunlight helps to reduce algae. N.B. We ship all plants in the water lily category "bare root" with root ball well protected to minimize transport costs. For all but the smallest species we would recommend a planting basket from 19-23cm across.
The variable Water Lilies produce flowers that change colour throughout their flowering time. Where possible we have chosen pictures that illustrate this.
This variety has a large number of colour variants, shapes, forms and sizes with a lily for every size of pond and lake.
The red variety, similar to pinks, offer a large number of colour variants, shapes, forms and sizes with a lily for just about every size of pond and lake.
If water lilies are the stars of the pond, then white lilies are the jewels. The white is much sort after by lily lovers and there is a variety to suit all sizes of pond and lake.
While the yellow variety, like all lilies, is beautiful, the yellow is particularly sought after for its scent.
Sometimes our water lilies loose their labels. To avoid sending out the wrong varities they are moved into the un named section. A bit of a lucky dip!
